Shipping Impressions: Dos and Don’ts

We love all the cases you've been submitting to us!

Here are some tips on shipping impressions to ensure they arrive in the best possible condition.

When sending in your patient's impressions:

DO:

Ship your patient's impressions in a durable cardboard box.

The brown boxes that we use to ship aligners to your office are designed to be re-used to ship impressions, but we’re not picky—you can use any appropriately sturdy corrugated carton. Boxes that are made to stand up to the rigors of a FedEx truck can prevent loss or damage of your patient's impressions. Nobody wants to waste time and money calling a patient back in unneccessarily.

DON’T:

Please don't ship impressions in a green ClearCorrect box.

These chipboard boxes are made to be stored on a shelf, not shipped across the country. They're not durable enough to reliably protect impressions from loss or damage. These boxes also sometimes have labels attached to them which could include confidential medical information.

 

Remember, if it’s brown, ship it down. If it’s green, keep it clean.

We're also migrating all of the content from our wiki to a new help center, located at:

The new help center is integrated more closely with our overall support system, so it will continue to be updated as we assist doctors with common (and not so common) issues.
